At VVP we work to secure the rights of ethnic minorities through provision of platforms for their voices to be heard and the promotion of cooperation and understanding between them and other stakeholders as well as government agencies.
On infrastructure support, our approach is based on a methodology of assessing capacity gaps, designing and implementing relevant training and capacity building activities.
A key focus of our WASH project is to build the capacity of county governments, institutions, and communities to incorporate climate change, gender, and water safety to practice and expand the protection of water sources and improve sanitation.
Specific activities:
The lack of employable skills contributes immensely to abject poverty and inequality. When done right, skills development can reduce unemployment, increase productivity, and improve standards of living. Helping youth develop and update their skills makes economic sense. Our youth development strategies are designed to help youth learn new job skills, start new careers, and realize a brighter future.
We promote innovation, increased economic inclusion and create jobs through entrepreneurship and agro-entrepreneurship in rural areas. Through these schemes, community members come together to form associations which are later trained on entrepreneurship with the aim of creating employment opportunities in rural areas through small enterprises. These schemes mainly succeed through skill up-grading, handholding and credit support to rural women. We offer credit access to registered women groups through our microfinance arm, the Jiinue Microsolutions Limited.
