Youth & Women Economic Empowerment
Our economic empowerment Project is centered at empowering youth and women as key change agents for Gender equality and youth/women empowerment- as their empowerment is critical to catalyzing social change at the community level, improving gender equality and their livelihoods, leading to increase in productive assets, secure access to land and better incomes and sustainable livelihoods. At Village Vocations, we use the Gender Action Learning Systems as an innovative approach to promoting gender equality. In this form of approach, women and men share their ideas and visions through household dialogues and this leads to better understanding and cohesion as well as greater wealth and well-being in the households.
We promote innovation, increased economic inclusion and create jobs through entrepreneurship and agro-entrepreneurship in rural areas. Through these schemes, community members come together to form associations which are later trained on entrepreneurship with the aim of creating employment opportunities in rural areas through small enterprises. These schemes mainly succeed through skill up-grading, handholding and credit support to rural women. We offer credit access to registered women groups through our microfinance arm, the Jiinue Microsolutions Limited.
